POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager supports the Controller to ensure accurate monthly financial statements are produced including the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement and key business statistics. The position is also responsible for ensuring that proper internal controls are in place and functioning for key business processes to support club management efforts in achieving financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with monthly duties including month-end closing process of completing journal entries, and maintaining monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with post-closing issues including analysis of financial statements variances from budget and forecast, improving the financial reporting and functionality, evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and make improvements where necessary, and review key business processes for potential improvements and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date account reconciliations.
  • Maintain cash flow spreadsheet.
  • Ensure bank balances are funded and positive pay is maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls.
  • Audit daily packets to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare revenue report and other requested monthly/daily reports.
  • Assist with the annual budget process.
  • Maintain GAAP compliance at all times.
  • Monthly filing of sales, use, and TABC taxes.
  • Prepare for annual audit including providing requested documentation.
  • Assist operations and membership with charge dispute resolution.
  • Oversee Membership Accountant position.
  • All other duties and projects assigned by the Controller.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisor or management position.
  • Experience working in a private club or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively to other department personnel and members.
  • Proven decision-making skills to include problem identification, analysis and resolutions.
  • Proactive approach to issues; takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Highly proficient in MS office applications: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with members.

 

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working in a private club or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in all MS Office products required.
  • Experience working with ClubSoft Club Management Software experience a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all departments and members.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong follow-through.
