JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager, Transient Market is responsible for selling hotel guestrooms, catering services and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits while ensuring customer satisfaction that is guest centric.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Establishes client base of organizations, associations, social, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside                sales effort for securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.

·         Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to produce group and/or convention business.

·         Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.            Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.

·         Accurately maintains detailed client files.

·         Manages and maintains relationships with all local and national consortia accounts.

·         Responsible for maintaining credible and high profile within the leisure sales community.

·         Prospects and grows new business opportunity for high-end leisure travel agencies.

·         Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and                property policies and procedures.

·         Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations.

·         Attends and represents company at trade shows and city-wide conventions.

·         Participation in pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required.

·         Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

·         Responds quickly to guest requests in a professional manner. Consistently follows up to ensure guest satisfaction that                  meet and exceed our service standards.

·         Attends any meetings or training sessions/courses as required.

·         Maintains high confidentiality regarding guest privacy.

·         Any other duties deemed necessary by a member of management.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

·         5+ years prior successful sales experience in Hospitality sales preferably in a complimentary high-end product market.

·         BA Degree in a business-related field

·         Must possess very strong interpersonal, communication and consensus building skills;

·         Computer knowledge (Hospitality Software & MS Office).

·         Knowledge of the travel trade industry essential.

·         Established understanding of hospitality and contract markets, channels and customer diversities.
