We have transformed this hotel with a complete renovation and re-opened as the dazzling Marriott Orlando Downtown, conveniently located adjacent to the downtown UCF campus and nestled in the future Creative Village.  We are looking for an Restaurant Operations Supervisor for our hotel that features 297 redesigned guest rooms and 15,992 square feet of sophisticated meeting accommodations.

Our Restaurant Operations Supervisor partners with the Restaurant Manager to provide Brilliant Service for the guests, and create a positive and fun environment for our associates. They provide engaging training for the associates, and help develop a team that is efficient and hospitable.  They are a role-model for our associates with their Operations knowledge and performance, and enjoy making the F&B areas function smoothly and efficiently.

 Responsibilities:

Food and Beverage:

  • Supervises the operations of the Restaurant, Bars, Fresh Bites, and MClub to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure.
  • Be a hands-on supervisor and a resource to your associates, by understanding associates positions well enough to perform duties in associates' absence.
  • Proactively meet guests during meals or upon departure to obtain feedback on quality of food and beverage, service levels and overall experience.
  • Ensure that associates are checked out appropriately and side work has been completed.
  • Ensure successful processes and training are instituted for every aspect of the guest's dining experience: greeting from hostess, speed of order taking and food and beverage delivery, fulfillment of special requests, collection of payment & invitation to return.
  • Understands the impact of F&B Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Follow procedures for processing payroll correctly to ensure correct payment of associate paychecks.
  • Ensures compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards and procedures by training, supervising, follow-up and hands on management.
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Ensures staff understands and complies with local, state and Federal liquor laws.
  • Also work as a Banquet Captain as needed.

Will also train in the following departments:

Front Office:

  • Proactively manage the Front Office staff by creating an environment that's engaging, where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance.
  • Communicates with key departments (Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Reservations and Sales and Event Planning) to ensure brilliant guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Supervises same day selling procedures and Up-selling techniques to maximize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Understands the impact of Room Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Works at the Front Desk as a role model in Guest Service Representative Responsibilities.

Housekeeping:

  • Maintains hotel & brand cleanliness standards for both rooms and public areas and inspects them to ensure that standards are met.
  • Trains staff in all aspects of housekeeping, including guest service.
  • Ensure that all Guest Room Attendants have appropriate supplies and linen closets on guest room floors are completely stocked.
  • Run sold room reports, verify room status, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
  • Coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality standards.
  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery. Inspect linens and terry for damage.
  • Assist in the cleaning of guest rooms when necessary.
  • Ensures staff is trained to follow correct procedures for key control and lost-and-found.
  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Works in partnership with the Managers to post and communicate all guest satisfaction results including all guest satisfaction forms, comment cards and guest letters.
  • Respond to all guests' requests, problems, and concerns presented in person or through comment cards, letters and/or phone calls, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Create an environment that's engaging, where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensures associates do the same within the team.
  • Display a positive, hands on leadership style to attract, retain and motivate the associates; schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline, as appropriate. 
  • Ensures recognition is taking place across areas of responsibility.
  • Follow procedures for processing payroll correctly to ensure correct payment of associate paychecks.
  • Ensure that associates are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and other associates.

Requirements:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

 Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Hotel Front Desk and/or Restaurant experience.
  • Previous Front Desk and/or Restaurant supervisory experience a plus.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent hospitality and communication skills.
