CONCIERGE: The primary responsibility will be to facilitate guests' and visitors' enjoyment by providing information and assistance in response to a wide variety of requests. This position coordinates guests' needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for our guests. Collect and provide comprehensive information and coordinate guest requests including but not limited to hotel services, sporting events, places of interest, restaurants, theater, airline, transportation tickets, limousine rentals, sightseeing tours and any other information of interest. Handle reservations and obtain/issue tickets where applicable. Provide a check-in/check-out environment and hotel experience for VIP and special key guests that distinguishes our brand from the competition and delivers superior service and value. Promote hotel services, facilities and outlets; provide guests with information such as local attractions and directions to increase guest satisfaction. Position will be required to work varied schedule that may include evenings, nights and weekends. This position serves as a support to the Front Office team (and Bell Staff, Door/Valet Staff, Transportation Staff, and Night Audit Staff).Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up. Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments and support one another as partners in the achievements of common goals, including Guest Satisfaction; Associate Satisfaction; Financial Success and a Safe Environment. Be aware and prepare for all in-house group meetings and VIP arrivals. Perform other duties as assigned such as assisting the bell stand, providing luggage and assistance, and ensuring the lobby and concierge area's appearance  reflect highly on the hotel and company. Greet VIP guests and conduct special check-in and check-out services for these guests. Communicate with Front Office about arriving VIP guests and communicate any changes needed for their stay in a timely and accurate manner. Identify return guests and VIP's in advance. Provide guest assistance with florists, couriers, mail services, rental of small business machines, international calls, etc. Respond appropriately to guest concerns or complaints in a timely manner. The Concierge will report directly to the Assistant Front Office Manager and Rooms Division Manager.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years in guest service related work on the Monterey Peninsula required.
  • Must have 1-year previous concierge experience or 2 years experience in guest service or equivalent combination of education and experience (Hotel experience required).
  • Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to stay well informed and knowledgeable about all hotel and local activities, restaurants, services and other attractions.
  • Basic clerical skills including typing, personal computer, and fax machine.
  • Ability to work a varied and flexible schedule required.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Must work well with others, be motivated, and display a positive energetic persona.
  • The job requirements of the successful candidate will be a self starter with a strong eye for details, results driven, possess strong interpersonal and administrative skills, and be a mentor.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential, must be able to multi task, have outstanding attitude, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
