House Attendant: The Housekeeping House Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel. Clean and service the assigned public areas according to established quality standards and procedure (I.E. public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas, and other public areas for assigned floors; Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax floor, remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas.) Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions. Maintains linen rooms with adequate stock of all supplies. Transports all clean and dirty linen to the appropriate areas. Shampoos carpet, clean hallways, and sweeps stairwells as needed. Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or the cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff. Respond to guests' requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner. Work closely with the Laundry Attendant to ensure that linen inventories are stocked as appropriate. The Houseperson/Lobby position will also share Laundry Attendants responsibilities when business dictate and/or to cover time off requests. Participate as a team player with all departments within the hotel. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safe working practices and conditions within department at all times. May deliver and collect newspaper and other items for recycling and respond to guest requests.  May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and with other duties as assigned. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull and push a moderate weight. This is a fast paced position. The Houseperson/ Lobby Person position must report to the Housekeeping Supervisor/ Management team, Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Candidate must be able to work an extremely flexible schedule. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and or pulling items up to 300 pounds
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate clearly.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math abilities are utilized often when reading assignments, completing checklists, replacing linens and amenities.

 

This job requires ability to perform the following:
