Job Description:

Our Regional Manager of Operations is a highly motivated professional with previous multi-property experience.  This team leader will enthusiastically promote our Baywood culture internally and in all communications with the Brands they represent and the local community.  This professional will oversee a  portfolio consisting of 8+ currently open select service hotels (totaling approximately 800 rooms) and be responsible for efficiently monitoring top line revenues as well as ensuring bottom line results, while not compromising the guest or associate experience.  This role may also include new hotels in various stages of development as well as potential renovation/rebranding projects in the pipeline. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Maintain existing and help create new standards of operation.
  • Participate in staff, revenue and sales meetings to ensure a high level of guest and associate satisfaction while increasing top line revenues and reducing operating costs.
  • Train, Supervise and fill in for General Managers as necessary.
  • Report regularly to the Regional Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer on all aspects of hotel performance and communicate action plans to rectify any deficiencies.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship between Investors, Asset Management, Accounting, Sales and Operations


Asset Management: Ensures the attainment of a superior franchise inspection grade overall for hotel property:

  • Conduct regular property visits to ensure brand and ownership standards are being met
  • Monitor property brand performance, quality assurance audit results, and social media reputation; assist with addressing areas for improvement
  • Assist with establishing budgets and reconciliation of monthly profit and loss statements
  • Work with asset manager on capital plans appropriate to drive a high guest experience while ensuring above average profits.
  • Submits annual Capital and R&M budgets for approval by Satellite office
  • Coordinates with General Manager for completion of all approved Capital and R&M items


Guest Satisfaction/Public Relations:  Promotes guest satisfaction in an effort to obtain repeat business of leisure and business markets:

  • Monitors General Managers response to letters/corrective action program on response cards.
  • Plays active role in community through affiliation with various community organizations to promote and maintain positive image for Baywood


Human Resources:  Ensures compliance with both Baywood policies and governmental laws established with regard to all personnel practices.

  • Conducts annual performance evaluations on all general managers.
  • Encourages promotion from within and employee development through goal setting and employee training.

 Personal Development: Ensures continual efforts are made to increase management abilities and knowledge.  

  • Attends annually a minimum of one advanced management training seminar.
  • Attends classes as necessary to ensure proficiency in operation and basic programming techniques of PC.
  • Attends franchise training courses as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years multi-property portfolio; proven track record of increasing profit (GOP) while exceeding Brand Goals for guest satisfaction
  • Previous Hotel Opening experience a plus, Experience with well branded, focused service hotels necessary.
  • Multi-brand experience preferred including Marriott and Hilton.
  • Proficient in various business software, including Microsoft Office: Word & Excel; and Google Suite.
  • Strong budgeting experience necessary
  • Must be willing to travel frequently within region
  • Demonstrate and have a proven history of a "hands on approach"
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive working relationship at all levels, from property team members to investors
  • Proven ability to mentor team memebers into their next role
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial reports including, P&L Statements, Sales & Marketing reports.
  • Ability to build, lead and motivate a team
