Job Summary


The Receptionist/Host is the main point of contact when members and guests come to the Club. The Receptionist/Host greets members and guests in a personable, friendly, and inviting manner, and guides them to appropriate areas. The Receptionist answers, screens, and forwards phone calls while providing basic information when needed. The Receptionist also takes reservations for various functions and performs other computer-based tasks. The Host greets all incoming parties, records date, time and special requests and walks each party to a designated table. The Host also helps provide a fine dining environment by performing other assigned tasks requiring attention to detail.

 

Job Tasks (Duties)

 

  • Greets members and guests as they enter the Club and Dining Room areas.
  • Guides members to appropriate areas of the Club and to designated tables in the dining area.
  • Addresses all members in a professional manner and by name if possible.
  • Answers telephone calls promptly and courteously and directs all calls to the appropriate areas.
  • Provides members with accurate information about Club events and directs any further questions to the appropriate individual or department.
  • Takes reservations and inputs information into the POS system.
  • Communicates any wait time for a reservation with the member or guest.
  • Takes "take-out" orders and enters them in the POS system.
  • Wipes down menus.
  • Ensures smooth operation of dining room flow.
  • Monitors table rotation.
  • Stays current with the Dining Room Menu offerings.
  • Assists servers when busy by clearing, busing, and resetting tables.
  • Takes ownership of member issues and follows problems through to resolution.
  • Engages in making sincere, friendly, and personal interactions with membership and guests to ensure they are happy with food and service.
  • Performs clerical duties such as handing out Application Packets, filing, and copying.
  • Keeps work areas clean, organized and stocked with essentials throughout the shift.
  • Effectively communicates with all staff to ensure member service is top of the line.
  • Follows the service mission statement to the fullest.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

 

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong client facing and communication skills.
  • Must be able to pay high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to perform basic computer skills to include familiarity with Excel programs.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Restaurant experience a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and drink when necessary.
  • Must be able to pour beverages such as water and wine.
  • Occasional bending.
  • Occasional sitting.

 

Position Classification and Expected Hours of Work

 

This is a part-time position averaging less than 30 hours each week.  The assigned hours to this position vary each week according to event schedules, but include working on holidays and weekends.

 

Compensation/Pay Scale

 

  • $11.00/Hour
