We have transformed this hotel with a complete renovation and re-opened as the dazzling Marriott Orlando Downtown, conveniently located adjacent to the downtown UCF campus and nestled in the future Creative Village.  We are looking for Front Desk / Guest Service Representatives for our hotel that features 297 redesigned guest rooms and 15,992 square feet of sophisticated meeting accommodations.

Our Front Desk / Guest Service Representatives have that genuine warmth and authentic approach that is the first impression our guests have and sets the tone for their entire stay.   They read cues, anticipate our guests' needs, and look for ways to delight them.  They enjoy making wonderful memories for the family on vacation or the client at a conference, tailoring their service to the unique needs of the guests.

 Responsibilities:

Front Desk Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for counting the cash drawer upon start and end of shift.
  • Checks Front Desk log book for any special requests, problems, etc.
  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in accordance with Marriott Brand standards.
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Proactively recommend hotel services, facilities and provide hours of operation upon check-in
  • Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow associates.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow associates and other departments within the hotel.
  • Maintains regular contact with the Housekeeping office by communicating the status of the rooms.
  • Handles guest check-ins and check-outs throughout shift.
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other associates.
  • Communicates all important information to following shift to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Responsible for completing all required shift paperwork and reports accurately and completely.
  • Process all payment types, adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges; provide change.
  • Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions as listed in the Log Book.
  • Be familiar with all in-house groups.
  • Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
  • Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed.
  • Completes all end of shift closing procedures and ensures that the cash drop is completed.

At Your Service Responsibilities:

  • Answer all calls promptly, in a courteous and hospitable manner.
  • Respond to guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities and hours of operation.
  • Forward calls to the appropriate department or person.
  • Answer questions on billing from guest reservations or bill.
  • Take order for fresh bites, and answer any questions. Enter into Micros ensuring the information is correct.
  • Log all guest requests or issues into computer, contact appropriate individual or department.
  • and follow up with guest to ensure their request has been met to their satisfaction.
  • Assist guests with accessing the internet.
  • Process wake up calls per guest's request.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Hotel and/or Customer Service experience.
  • Previous Hotel Front Desk experience desired.
  • Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
