New Albany Country Club is looking to add an Outside Sales Manager to our catering team. 

This person will be responsible for the sales and promotion of catering services to clients and potential customers using various sales strategies.

Requirements of the position include: Knowledge of the best practices in catering sales, food & beverage and hospitality industry; effective communication skills, and the ability to negotiate, influence and sell. This position reports to the Senior Catering Sales Manager and requires an energetic and detail oriented candidate with a passion for food and beverage.

Pay: Salary plus commission. 

Please note: While planning experience is beneficial to this position, the major thrust of the position is sales based.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Develop and employ various customer sales strategies such as office visits, cold calling, emails, and distribution of promotional materials to increase customer base.

Contacts executives of organizations to explain services and facilities offered by the Club and to solicit their business.

Gives tours of the facilities and discusses booking logistics, room options and menus with potential clients.

Scout and identify potential clients by conducting a demographic survey which provides statistics of a target market.

Actively pursue community contacts within New Albany/Columbus Government, Chamber and Business Park for the purpose of direct and referred business along with general insight to community direction.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients such that fosters sales and increase clientele.

Attend conferences and trade fairs to promote NACC catering and exchange ideas with other catering sales professionals.

Maintains a database of contacts for repeat and future bookings.

Prepare monthly sales forecast that includes documentation of clients contacted and outcomes to ensure efficient management of leads.

Responsible for the professional execution of sales operation in a manner that enhances company image and public outlook.

Meets weekly with the Catering Department to review upcoming events and parties, informs all necessary departments of any updates or potential new sales leads.

Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:  

Education

Bachelors Degree in Communication, Marketing or Business Administration.

Experience

3 years relevant sales experience in restaurant, hotel or club.
