Advertising

 

            This position is responsible for the coordination of all advertising for the property including Hotel and Casino,  including all print, television, radio, and any other ad campaigns. 

 

Casino Marketing

 

            This position is responsible for the overall development and implementation of any and all floor promotions, gaming tournaments, and special events conducted on the property.  Floor promotions are noted as any promotion that is conducted that casino customers can participate in.  They can be by invitation only or open to anyone. This position is responsible for writing the rules, developing the format, communicating with all other departments that are affected by the promotion, etc.  Gaming tournaments include any tournament conducted on the floor such as video poker or slot tournaments.  This position is responsible for developing the format, prize structure, rules, proforma for tournaments. 

 

Direct Mail

 

            Coordinate all direct mail for the property.

 

Players Club

 

            Oversee all aspects of Players Club and casino database.  The Players Club Managers and Supervisors report to the Director of Marketing.  The players Club staff assists with all floor promotions, events, and tournaments.  This position assists the Players Club Staff with their day-to-day operations including any scheduling issues, advises on discipline, scheduling, creating rules of conduct for staff, hiring and terminations, etc. 

 

Analysis

 

            This position is responsible for developing all proformas and final analysis when any floor promotion, event, or tournament is produced.  Prior to the development of any of the above, all expenses are to be determined.  Then it may be decided as to the level of player needed for it to be profitable.  At the completion of the event or tournament, a final analysis is conducted to analyze true revenues and final expenses and determine profitability.  Analysis is done by each individual event

 

Customer Service

 

            Responsible for resolving customer disputes from a Players Club and Casino standpoint.  When a casino customer wants to speak to the person in charge of Marketing or the Players Club, they will speak to the Director of Marketing, and it is this person's responsibility to resolve the customer's situation to the best of their ability.

 

Comp review and audit

 

            Review all comps that are provided to casino customers for hotel rooms, food, beverage, or gift shop to verify that the appropriate comp dollars are deducted, and that the customers qualify for their comps. 

 

Entertainment

 

            In some cases the Director is responsible for booking entertainment for lounges, special events, parties, etc., and maintaining contractual agreements.

 

Database Growth and Casino Revenue Growth

 

            This position is directly responsible for the development of new programs that attract new players to the property growing the database thus growing revenues in the casino.  This position is also responsible for the development of programs and promotions that maintain a loyal player and keep them returning. 

 

Necessary Skills Required to Perform this Job

 

  • Computer Knowledge and fast typing skills are essential.  This includes basic programs such as Word and Excel but also knowledge of casino databases and how they work.  Knowledge of Aristocrat (CDS) is a definite plus.

 

  • Communication skills.  This person must be able to communicate effectively with their employees, customers, and with an audience. 

 

  • An understanding of the gaming industry is necessary.  You need to determine the value of a player from the low end to the VIP.

 

  • This position requires organizational skills, and you must be able to Multi Task.

 

  • Must be flexible with hours and days as events dictate. 

 

  • This position requires speaking, reading, and writing In English, visual acuity, manual dexterity, and requires public speaking and listening skills.
