OVERVIEW:  The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for managing the administrative and dining room operations, maintaining a high level of service and excellence in food and beverage areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises dining employees.
  • Meets and greets Members and guests, preferably by name.
  • Interviews and recommends staff for dining positions.
  • Reviews performance of staff, and recommends salary adjustments.
  • Coordinates training programs based on operational policies and service standards.
  • Reviews and handles member or staff complaints.
  • Monitors dining room opening and closing procedures. Completes server checkout sheets as needed.
  • Shuts down Clubhouse on a rotating basis with other supervisors.
  • Inspects staff and dining room presentation.
  • Communicates with person taking reservations and monitors reservations closing.
  • Reviews monthly labor, food, and beverage cost.
  • Conducts beverage, china, silverware, glassware, and flatware inventory.
  • Ensures that all activities are conducted in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Assists in making arrangements for banquets and private parties.
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated and positive team player that takes personal pride in providing superior customer service.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and motivates staff (including: hiring, firing, performance management, and recognition duties).
  • Assesses staffing needs, and recruits staff using methods such as newspaper advertisements or attendance at job fairs, in conjunction with the H.R. Director.
  • Runs payroll reports and collects time cards on a weekly basis. Forwards weekly payroll reports to Accounting.
  • Trains, directs and appraises staff.
  • Prepare weekly schedules. Suggests staff changes needed to meet operational requirements. 
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
