RUNNER: Expedite food from kitchen to customer to ensure prompt service of meals to guests. The Food Runner is responsible primarily for assisting the Food Server in serving the guest. Also, responsible for assisting buspersons in clearing and setting of tables in a timely manner. Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations. May assist with other duties as needed, such as welcoming, greeting and seating guests, counting and exchanging soiled linen, polishing glassware or silverware, etc. Perform set-up and closing side work assignments. This is a fast paced position with continual customer contact. Clear, clean, and set tables according to established service standards. The Runner position will share Busperson responsibilities when business dictate and/or to cover time off requests, etc. The Runner will report directly to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager(s).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight.
  • The ability to deal with internal & external guests with a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be guest service focused and understand expectations of hospitality and restaurant demands.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays.
  • Successful candidates will have excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Must be a team player and exude friendly demeanor/personality.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often to answer guest's questions regarding the menu.
  • Basic math skills are used when performing some restaurant duties.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency is a plus.

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Standing up and moving about the kitchen, outlet or other designated areas
  • Handling food, objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling
