Job Profile Summary:

The Steward's primary responsibility is to provide guest service by assuring that all tableware, glassware, chinaware, and cooking utensils are sanitary and clean. The Steward performs all dish washing functions and is the person most responsible for making sure that guest health is protected by always using the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant.  Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and small appliances, including dish washing machine, sanitizing station and meat slicer. Ensures sanitary condition and proper storage of all china, glassware, silverware, cookware and serving utensils. Will assist with restaurant facilities/outlets as it pertains to cleaning and organizing, and stocking of the food & beverage facilities and outlets. Ensure proper storage, usage and disposal of kitchen substances and chemicals according to local ordinances and Company/Brand safety standards. Maintain professionalism in a fast paced environment at all times. Possess technical knowledge and aptitude.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties include the following -­‐ Other Duties May Be Assigned:

  • Adhere to Platinum Management Services, and Brand specific standards.
  • Adhere to statutory requirements applicable to food and drink service (i.e. ServSafe Food Handler Permit, Server Permit).
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances as they apply to the property, guests and departmental
  • Adhere to safety and emergency procedures and policies (i.e. evacuation, first aid, ) to include removing all safety hazards.
  • Provides guest service by assuring that all tableware, glassware, chinaware, and cooking utensils are sanitary and clean.
  • Clean, sanitize and store all utensils and service ware according to local ordinances, Company and Brand
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example.
  • Assist in transporting banquet food to appropriate location.
  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the
  • Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as Clean kettles, skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely.
  • Remove trash, sweep and mop floors
