The Guest Services Supervisor will contribute to the hotel profitability through a combination of techniques including; expert customer service and assistance in revenue management. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and implementing all policies, procedures and quality standards as well as the training and development of Guest Service staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day management of all aspects of Hotel Guest Services department operations in conjunction with the Rooms Division Manager.
  • Supervise and actively participate in the prompt and courteous handling of all guest requests, including but not limited to: check-in, check-out, reservations, telephone messages, inquiries, luggage, billing issues and no show complaints.
  • Creation of high levels of guest satisfaction through maximization of room revenue by utilizing yield management techniques to emphasize occupancy and rate averages.
  • Monitoring controls for labour costs ensuring that the front office operates within the approved budget.
  • Assist in leading and motivating all guest service department employees.
  • Assist in ensuring all on-going trainings are completed.
  • Ensure proper and efficient communication and follow up between the front desk and all other departments in the hotel.
  • Create work schedules as required by the Rooms Division Manager for all guest service employees.

 

SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work as a team player
  • Highly organized and time efficient
  • Two years related experience with Front Desk operations
  • One-year supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • High proficiency in operation of computers
  • Able to handle difficult situations, accommodate special requests.
  • Professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Able to maintain a flexible work schedule, days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • A strong desire to exceed guest expectations
  • Able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
