The Orchard Hotel and the Orchard Garden Hotel located in the heart of Union Square in San Francisco, California are currently seeking qualified experienced candidates for the Bartender position in our Daffodil Restaurant & Roots Restaurant. 


Summary:

Mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, juices, etc. Properly charge guest and be comfortable with cash/credit handling. Be familiar with menu inclusive of wine, beer, Happy Hour and room service. 


Hours: 4:30 pm - 12:30 am, 5 days a week.

Status:  Full Time (Minimum 30 hours/week)

Pay: $18/hour


Qualified candidates will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Prepare the bar and lounge, service the guests to the Lounge and close out on a daily basis. 
  • Must possess bartending skills to make cocktails according to house recipes standards.
  • Have knowledge of spirits, wines & beers.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills that begin with a SMILE.
  • Ability to communicate with an international clientele
  • Maintain rough inventory and report items to order to the manager.
  • Manage money, properly handling, counting and balancing cash drawer at the beginning end and during shifts and reporting any errors to the manager right away. Experience using POS systems.
  • Properly follows Closing Procedure Checklist. 
  • Will be responsible for the cleanliness of bar and cocktail tables. Wiping down bottles, disposing of garbage and dirty rags, covering bottles in the speed rack and taking any dishes to the dish stand.
  • Empty trash and recycling.
  • Close and lock cash drawer, and lock keys in a lockbox. 
  • Other duties assigned by the F&B Manager and General Manager.

Experience:

  • 1-year bartending experience or two years as a restaurant server plus recognized bartending school mixology degree. Knowledge of current laws regarding serving, selling and obtaining alcohol. 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Customer/service skills/experience is required.
  • The employee must be genuinely personable and cordial.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic typing skills required, 10 key helpful, computer experience preferred and adaptability required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be ServSafe Alcohol certified and have a working understanding of all CA alcohol regulations, including checking ID.
  • TIPS Certified is a plus.
