We have transformed this hotel with a complete renovation and have re-opened as the dazzling Marriott Orlando Downtown, conveniently located adjacent to the downtown UCF campus and nestled in the future Creative Village.  We are looking for a Host/Hostess for our hotel that features 297 redesigned guest rooms and 15,992 square feet of sophisticated meeting accommodations.

Our Host/Hostess roles are one of the most important interactions our guests will have for their dining experience.  The host/hostess is the first impression guests will have of the restaurants, and sets the tone for the experience they will have.  The genuine smile, friendly greeting, and overall efficiency are the perfect preview to the brilliant service they will be having throughout their meal.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Properly controls and assigns table to ensure fairness.
  • Maintains all reservations and group seating assignments.
  • Seat guests and make them feel comfortable by pulling out chairs; placing the menu in front of guest, and introducing the server that will be helping them.
  • Ensure place settings are correct and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.
  • Assist guests regarding food and beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Have knowledge of all menu items, contents and preparation methods
  • Visit all tables in restaurant to ensure proper service is being given to all guests.
  • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service and wellbeing of guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
  • Ensure communication on the phone is hospitable and helpful.
  • Support all staff during scheduled shifts, helping out where needed.
  • Understand Micros procedures, and can assist guests with Micros as needed.
  • Keep Host stand neat and organized.
  • Also works as an M-Club (Concierge) Attendant.
  • Check menus to ensure they are clean, professional and presentable.
  • Thank the guest and bid them a fond farewell.
  • Help with Bussing tables and delivering food to tables if needed.
  • Fold napkins up to par.
  • Take To Go orders, and orders for Fresh Bites.
  • Deliver Fresh Bites items when requested.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment.

 Requirements:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

 Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Food and Beverage and/or Customer Service experience.
  • Previous Host/Hostess position desired.
  • Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
