SUMMARY:  The Area Sales Manager is primarily responsible for developing, directing, and executing the sales and marketing strategy to achieve revenue goals. S/He will maximize the revenue of the each hotel while mentoring the sales team.

The Area Sales Manager  shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Bedderman Lodging and Bedderman Lodging's  Core Values.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate as part of a Area Team to work with the property to maximize sales productivity and efficiency for Group Sales, BT Sales, and Catering Sales.
  • Assist the Area Team in evaluating new acquisition and development opportunities, offering task force assistance during due diligence and transition periods.
  • Plan, develop and monitor property sales plans and budgets.
  • Assist property management in the preparation of the annual operating budgets, and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the properties.
  • Direct property Sales activities, including the development of group and transient sales execution strategy and positioning.
  • Direct property Sales activities for all Catering Sales and Catering Services
  • Assist properties in establishing a client base of organizations, associations, and commercial business through direct outside sales efforts for the purpose of securing business for the hotel.
  • Develop new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel, while maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Identify operational problems that impact the effectiveness of overall sales performance.
  • Create, implement, and monitor pre-opening and long-range sales and marketing strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Develop, achieve and track hotel sales goals.
  • Identify and direct areas of accountability and performance
  • Provide suitable training, reinforcement and coaching for staff, as necessary.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other Area team members.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Area policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Team Member is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

 EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
  • Multi-property, 2+ years of experience in a sales and catering setting or related field
  • Sales Manager experience required in sales/catering environment
  • Overall knowledge of hotel sales and marketing management
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Willingness and ability to promote a positive team member culture and core values
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Fluency in other languages beneficial
