The Crowne Plaza Fredericton- Lord Beaverbrook, is currently seeking a highly motivated Sales Manager with strong initiative and desire for personal achievement for our landmark historic hotel located in the downtown core of Fredericton New Brunswick, Canada. The ideal candidate will have a drive to develop and secure new sustainable business within the Sports, Tours and SMERF segment through the creation and implementation of sales strategies and hands on outside sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development of annual sales goals.
  • Ability to travel frequently (locally and out of town).
  • Meet market segments with a focus on Sports, Tours and SMERF, achieving budgeted sales and profit margins by soliciting, selling and confirming business as required.
  • Develop data and recommend programs to meet the needs of the clients.
  • Prepare proposals that are geared to maximize profit.
  • Attend trade shows to develop new business and to contact established clients.
  • Ensure maximum occupancy daily by performing follow-ups on bookings.
  • Develop plans, special sales activities and promotions.
  • Conduct market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential and desired rate.
  • Determine, communicate and monitor achievement of standards of performance on a timely basis.
  • Maintain great working relationships with existing and future clients.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience preferred
  • Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism is an asset
  • Goal oriented and determined to achieve set goals
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational abilities
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge in sales segments indicated.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak in both official languages considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
