Bridgeton Holdings is actively searching for an efficient, and self-motivated Hospitality Accountant to join our Corporate accounting team.

This position will assist in all aspects of financial management for a portfolio of assigned hotels, including AP, AR, credit and collections, payroll, cash management, internal controls, auditing, general ledger, financial statements, taxes, and budgeting. This position will assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial reports with Hotel General Managers to verify accuracy and completeness in accordance with the USALI 11th Edition. Qualified candidates must be able to implement and monitor internal controls, be familiar with all aspects of accounting, must be computer literate and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Summary:

  • Timely review of monthly financial statements for assigned hotel properties and related entities including corporate consolidation and reporting of assigned hotel properties and ownership entities
  • Heavy emphasis on the Accounts Payable process ensuring invoices are paid on a timely basis
  • Assisting in recording journal entries for accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, and payroll
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining month end account reconciliations, including the reconciliation for cash, prepaids, and accrued expenses
  • Assistance in the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of Standard Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls for our finance and accounting operations
  • Assist with accounting training and integrations at certain hotel properties
  • Review internal controls and safeguards including monthly audits performed on property. This includes purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, and payroll;
  • Monthly comparison of income/expenses to budget with follow-up and explanations for significant variances
  • Involvement with insurance and property tax administration of assigned hotel properties
  • Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned

Experience:

  • 4 Year Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent work experience in a hotel environment
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (11th Edition) preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and financial accounting systems
  • M3 experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with subordinates, peers and management
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Experience in designing and formatting financial reports preferred 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality
