AR CREDIT SPECIALIST:

This challenging position has overall responsibility for AR processing, recording and audit billing. This person will be responsible for resolving dispute charges, collections, direct billings and advance payments. Also responsible for reconciling all Marriott billings.  This person serves as a liaison between operating departments to ensure proper group master reservations for all banquet functions. This person will also handle, auditing, reconciliation of daily group reservations and A/R invoices, report printing, and posting advance deposits. May be assigned various special projects. Must be able to identify issues with regards to the current process and notify management of concerns and potential solutions. Research and respond to all individual inquiries in a timely manner. The AR Credit Specialist will report directly to the hotel Controller.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or an applicable discipline or a minimum of 2-3 years accounting experience preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Candidate should have outstanding analytical skills, attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer and Math skills required.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure effectively and work independently.
  • The ability to deal with internal & external guests with a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be guest service focused and understand expectations of hospitality and accounting demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of associates and management.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs, payroll systems.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Good 10-key, data entry and keyboarding abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required, as well as the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
