COOK II: This position requires performance all basic and intermediate cooking skills including preparation of soups, sauces, stocks, frying, broiling. This position is responsible for the production of food items for our main kitchen. This is a fast-paced position that involves heavy lifting, pushing and pulling as well as excessive walking, standing and bending. Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner. Participate as a team player with all departments within the hotel. The Cook 2 will report directly the Sous Chef and indirectly to the Executive Chef.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This culinary position requires good communication skills, strong customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong professional presentation.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task while maintaining close attention to detail and the ability to take direction in a high performance environment. 
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays, inclusive of AM & PM shifts.
  • Requires professional knowledge of cooking ingredients, procedures and presentation techniques. 
  • A minimum of 1-2 years previous line prep and basic cooking experience in restaurant and/or hotel is required.

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Moving about the kitchen
  • Handling food, objects, products and utensils
