SUMMARY:  The Business Transient Sales Manager is primarily responsible for identifying, soliciting, booking and coordinating business travel sales to exceed revenue and profit goals for Prospera Hospitality in the Dayton market. The candidate will maximize the profitability of the hotels while maintaining client and guest satisfaction.

The Business Transient Sales Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. Candidate will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotels' Culture and Core Values.  The essential Job Functions listed below will apply to all Prospera Hotels in the Dayton/Fairborn market.

Essential job FUNCTIONS:

  • 100% of his/her time will be spent in a direct solicitation of corporate accounts. (A minimum of 20 outside calls, 4 site tours and 30 prospecting phone calls per week; goals will change based on business demands)
  • Responsible for identifying new contacts with corporate related transient and group business for the area hotels
  • Responsible for responding to negotiating national RFPs in multiple property systems
  • Responsible for negotiating local negotiated corporate agreements for all area properties
  • Responsible for understanding rate management; evaluating profitable business opportunities  and increasing rates to meet budgeted goals
  • Utilize internet resources and company databases to uncover new corporate accounts
  • Set, secure and conduct site inspections with potential clients.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships and networking within the hospitality industry.
  • Responsible for development and execution of action plans outlining planned sales activities on a quarterly basis.
  • Develop, achieve and track personal sales activity and revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate and complete files in SalesPro to provide group/guest history and ensure quality service to build future business.
  • Manage travel expenses to assure the best possible expense to sales ratio and to provide complete and accurate documentation.
  • Manage time and resources to maximize results.
  • Keep informed of on current industry trends that affect the hotels.
  • Complete other all other duties as directed by General Manager or Prospera Management team
  • Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.

Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

  • At least 1 year of experience in hotel corporate sales with a knowledge of negotiating national and local corporate rate agreements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Hospitality, Marketing or related field
  • Proficient in SalesPro, Word and Excel
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances are utilized frequently
  • Willingness and ability to promote a positive team member culture and core values

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence prospects and hotel guests
  • Ability to maximize impact, maintain interest and establish a rapport with your audience when conveying information
