Scope and General Purpose:

The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning the tools (china, utensils, pots, pans, glassware, etc) that are required to keep the restaurant in operation.  They also help prep food like peeling potatoes. They gather the trash and flatten boxes and transport them to the dumpsters.  They help maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen that are inline with the Health Department.   They will assist in storing food and non-food items in their proper areas.  They maintain that the dish machine is in working order and that the chemicals are in line  with the Health Department.

Clean tableware.

Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.

Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.

Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.

Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.

Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.

Remove trash.

Sweep or scrub floors.

Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.

Stock supplies, such as plates, utensils, in serving stations, cupboards,  or refrigerators.

  • Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.

Stock serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies.

Prepare and package individual place settings.

Package food or supplies.

Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.

The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Must be able to lift 20 lbs alone.  Have manual dexterity and multi limb coordination. Must have good oral comprehension. Must be able to speak distinctly and clearly and have the ability to identify and understand the speech of another person. The ability to make fast, simple repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

Environmental:

Duties are performed primarily in indoor settings and occasionally outside settings. Will spend most of their day standing and are exposed to very hot temperatures. Workdays often include face-to-face discussions, email, and telephone calls.  On a typical workday, workers often use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects or tools. May get minor burns or cuts. May experience stress due to extensive time pressure. May work more than 40 hours a week.  Will be exposed to extreme hot and cold weather, wind, dust and noise. .
