What will I be Doing?

Hilton Hotel & Suites Niagara Falls/Fallsview is currently seeking a talented Restaurant Manager to provide leadership in a "hands on" role and conduct management functions including planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling as they are applied to the operation for our upcoming restaurant facility scheduled to open in Spring 2019.  Our focus will be on providing an Italian inspired menu which will be rustic yet refined. Our open style kitchen requires an incumbent who can immerse guests in an experience that is fresh and vibrant, with engaging French style service and impressive Italian cuisine Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant by analyzing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability; organizing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes; and preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales; and setting budgets and/or agreeing them with senior management.

The Manager will also be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Recruitment, selection and training of staff; assisted by the Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Directly manages all staff, ensuring all policies procedures and standards are adhered to as referred to in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure all operating expenses are maintained within budget. Ensure all operating equipment is in good condition and small wares inventoried. This includes facilitating a preventative maintenance program
  • Provide excelled levels of guest service through proactive training and examination of guest comment cards.
  • Tracing food and beverage coupons, in-house capture and high/low demand periods
  • Planning and implementation of promotions
  • Facilitate an environment of personal growth, development and a high-level of employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all departments are maintained in a clean and hygienic state and all employees attired in a clean and professional manner.
  • Responsible for all departmental floats and revenue from sales strictly adhering to cash handling procedures.

Directors, Managers, and Supervisors are Responsible For:

  • Ensuring employees are trained in safe working practices and follow all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures;
  • Conducting regular site inspections, regular safety meetings, and accident/incident investigations;
  • Implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Observing and following safe work practices and all safety rules and procedures;
  • Promptly reporting hazardous or unsafe equipment, condition, procedures or behaviours to the appropriate persons.
  • Immediately acknowledge all work-related accidents or injuries and deal with them as per the Health and Safety Policy.
  • Organize regular staff meetings ensuring communication is prioritized.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 10kg
  • Must be available to work a variety of all shifts (Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays)
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
