Manages the cleanliness and appearance of guest accommodations and public space and sees that all personnel performing housekeeping functions carry out their assignments in accordance with established standards. Responsible for all housekeeping issues, supplies, linen, equipment, work orders to maintenance staff, and any other duties as assigned or required.

  • Establishes and delegates daily work assignments for all Housekeeping staff to ensure all areas of the property are cleaned in accordance with company standards.

  • Responds to all guest requests and complaints concerning housekeeping service or refers problem to General Manager for further action.
  • Maintains regular contact with the Front Desk for check-outs or emergency needs.
  • Manages departmental budget, monitoring monthly expenses for staffing and supplies. Participates in the development of the annual budget and Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Inspects guest rooms daily for preventative maintenance, needed repairs, and to ensure that cleaning standards are maintained. Checks vacant rooms to verify condition and possible occupancy, notifies front desk of any discrepancies.
  • Schedules special cleaning programs as required. Areas such as window washing, shampooing or carpets, general cleaning and vent cleaning may be included.
  • Maintains inventory of guest and housekeeping supplies and linens; places orders for replacement of all necessary supplies and equipment; records the arrival of all ordered supplies and equipment, codes invoices, and submits to Accounts Payable for payment.
  • Participates in the General Manager's Executive Committee addressing operational concerns and identifying areas for improvement in customer service, associates' satisfaction and improved profitability.
  • Originates work orders for needed repairs to guest rooms or public areas and reviews them with the Maintenance Department and the General Manager.
  • Ensures that all cleaning agents are properly diluted and used according to instructions.
  • Maintains accountability for issuance and control of all Housekeeping keys.
  • Ensures operating procedures are in compliance with all state and federal regulations with regard to OSHA and HAZCOM

  • Issues all supplies and equipment for cleaning of guest rooms and other areas in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Maintains control of the "lost and found" property and keeps a log of all information.
  • Maintains control of associates' uniforms, ensuring that uniforms and name badges are worn and kept in proper condition.
  • May assist in cleaning rooms or public areas and performing laundry functions as work load may require.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

  • Interpersonal skills enabling one to supervise and motivate a staff and deal effectively with all guests, Guest Service Associates and other hotel management and staff.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours in length. Requires sitting, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and visual acuity
