REPORTING TO: Executive Chef

The responsibilities include supervising the culinary operations, including the provision of consistent quality in menu items and strong organizational skills in a busy Food & Beverage operation. The successful candidate will foster an environment of teamwork. As a member of the Hotel team they will be required to maintain and implement all policies, procedures and standards of the department and the Hotel itself.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All aspects of service of the Restaurant and Lounge including ordering, prep lists, preparation and delivery of service.
  • Maintaining consistent quality assurance of food production for all service outlets.
  • Oversee Kitchen operations while on shift including supervision of kitchen team.
  • Develop, engage and support a team that maximizes the customers' expectations.
  • Control food costs where possible.
  • Implement and maintain Hotel and brand standards, policies and procedures.
  • Report areas of concern to Executive Chef.
  • Ensure good relations with all other hotel departments especially front of house restaurant staff
  • Foster a teamwork environment for the kitchen employees.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passionate about food and its presentation.
  • A desire to exceed guests' expectations.
  • Highly organized.
  • Team player. Able to assist others as necessary. Good people skills.
  • Three years related experience with kitchen operations.
  • Cooking trade certification is preferred.
  • Minimum two-year supervisory experience.
  • Able to handle difficult situations, accommodate special requests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to maintain a flexible work schedule, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of working well under pressure.
