Job Purpose:  

A Line Cook is an hourly employee who will focus on providing good quality food and great Guest service by providing food in a timely manner. He or she will be responsible for being able to work all stations in the kitchen but primarily utilizing more advanced skills including knowledge of cooking techniques and advanced knife skills to execute dishes on the hot line. Working any station requires ensuring that products in the station are made per recipe and presented per presentation standard while maintaining the individual work area. Maintaining the work area includes adhering to sanitation and ServSafe standards while working with extremely high volume.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work efficiently with speed necessary to meet demand of volume
  • Work your station, producing items cooked as dictated by recipe and/or Guest request
  • Adhere to appropriate plate presentation specified per dish
  • Restock area
  • Take temperatures and maintain ServSafe documentation
  • Keep work area clean and maintain sanitation standards
  • Set up and break down work area depending on scheduled work shift time

Job Qualifications:  

Education

HS Diploma or equivalent

Experience

Minimum 2 years cooking experience at a full service restaurant or hotel

Physical Requirements

Will remain stationary for long periods of up to four (4) to eight (8) hours in length. Will reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Will need to ascend and descend stairs throughout shift. Position dictates eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Normal range of hearing and eyesight is needed in order to perform normal job functions. Position dictates that candidate work under possible stressful conditions and is subject to irregular hours.
