Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique boutique property, 106 guest rooms and equipped 8000 square feet catering / banquet facility located the waterfront of North Vancouver and Pinnacle Hotel Whistler, 84 guest rooms located heart of Whistler village, is seeking at a Director of Sales & Catering who will be based in Vancouver and serves as an ambassador for both Hotels. The individual must be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our residents & guests' expectations with an attention for detail. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:  The main responsibility of the Director of Sales & Catering is to prospect, secure, service, sell and manage catering events from initial booking to completion and follow-up. 
  

Job description:

  • Actively solicit new business to meet/exceed revenue goals through proactive selling, which includes networking, regular sales calls, personal sales calls and telephone solicitation
  • Prospect and follow-up on all sales leads and promptly execute correspondence to customers in an effective and efficient manner
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the catering team to maximize group revenue opportunities and ensure efficient execution of group reservations, programs and functions
  • Participate and lead regular sales meeting with a focus on lead generation and the reviewing of Sales objectives and targets
  • Book function space for clients and coordinates and distributes applicable function details in a timely manner and with attention to detail
  • Prepare sales contracts, event orders and conference resumes
  • Initiate billing procedures, ensuing any deposits and / or credit application information concerning convention clients
  • Conduct and/ or attend daily meeting to review event contacts and ensure last minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments
  • Direct and oversee Sales & Catering team to maximize group revenue opportunities and ensure efficient execution of group reservations, programs and Functions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Develop menus for catering kit and customizes as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of four (4) years senior role of Sales & Catering or 2 years Director management experience in full service hotel property
  • One (1) year Banquet management experience an asset
  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel or Hospitality management an asset
  • Knowledge of group, leisure and corporate marketplace
  • Knowledge of group, corporate, social, wedding and local catering marketplace 
  • Able to focus and guide others in accomplishing work objectives
  • Able to build a cohesive team and positive working relations with others
  • Able to establish course of action for self and others and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Proven track record as a successful sales & Catering professional
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, displaying strong initiative and ability to make decisions independently
