Job Purpose:  The Dining Room Manager is directly responsible for all front of the house operations including a la carte, buffet, afternoon tea, patio, bar and private function sales and beverage functions.

Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Day to day leadership of all aspects of a busy Dining Room; management of all Host/ess, Servers, Bussers and Bartenders,
  2. Managing and maintaining Open Table to maximize covers, while minimizing guest wait times.
  3. Managing to the Collective Agreement while focusing on staff performance targets to ensure the highest guest satisfaction while driving continued growth in food and beverage sales.
  4. Supervising all employee related policies.
  5. Responsible for working with the Executive Chef to complement food menus with wine and beer suggestions on a quarterly basis.
  6. Developing short term and long term financial and operational plans for the restaurant which support the overall objectives of the company.
  7. Reporting all Food and Beverage service issues or guest complaints to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Executive Chef and Brand Ambassador.
  8. Overseeing and directing all staff activities, ongoing training and personnel issues.
  9. Monitoring to ensure that service standards are being executed and to provide coaching for staff improvement.
  10. Ensuring guest and employee satisfaction by interacting directing with the customers/guests to provide welcoming, friendly service and to solicit/receive feedback on quality of food and service
  11. Administering all administrative functions, i.e. payroll, scheduling.
  12. Meeting financial targets as set out by the CEO.
  13. Working collaboratively with the entire management team to ensure a positive work experience
  14. Ensuring the physical maintenance of the dining room and catering facilities, finishes, furniture, fixtures and equipment, both inside the facilities and at the facility and ancillary storage areas.
  15. Monitoring Dining Room and Catering operations and assists in supervising private functions.
  16. Ensuring on going training of all front of house staff to ensure an exceptional guest service experience in line with established operating standards.
  17. Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience

3 plus years of Food & Beverage Management and Supervising experience with solid leadership skills and experience recruiting, training and managing staff.

Extensive food & beverage experience, sound judgement and knowledge of Operations, Catering, Banquet or group menu experience is an asset.

Ability to multi task and perform calmly in a fast paced environment,

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to communicate verbally and non verbally in English.

Food Safe Level 2 administrative skills including payroll, scheduling, ordering inventory and report generating.

Flexible schedule including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.
