JOB TITLE: RECEIVING / STORES MANAGER

*REPORTS TO: CONTROLLER

JOB DESCRIPTION - RECEIVING / STORES MANAGER

The Receiving / Stores Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Receiving Stores Department, including, sourcing equipment, goods and services, managing vendors/suppliers/staff and maintaining control over inventory on hand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries.
  • Directly supervises receiving department.
  • Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.
  • Ensures organization and cleanliness of storerooms, coolers and freezers.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices and actual received merchandise.
  • Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs. Inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots.
  • Oversee the full operation of the sanitation rooms.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Develops weekly work schedules.
  • Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
  • Monitor PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels and FIFO rotation. Complete and maintain required departmental paperwork.
  • Operate a manual pallet jack
  • Assists with monthly inventory.
  • Counseling, and motivating receiving employees; assign and ensure work tasks are completed correctly and on time.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational quality.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management.

SKILLS

  • Attention to detail and skilled organization
  • Food & Beverage Experience Required
  • Strong supervisory skills, ability to designate responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively with all personality types
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal & written instructions independently
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights
  • Practice safe working habits, including bending and lifting appropriately to avoid injury, reporting hazards, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and working to minimize tripping hazards
  • Fill in any gaps in staffing as required
  • Report any damages or repairs to the department
  • Always greet guests in a friendly and professional manner according to HVR's standards
  • Comply with the HVR Policies, Procedures and Code of Ethics
