The Westin Toronto Airport Hotel currently has (1) Full-time position available for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the accounting department.  The Accounts Payable is responsible for accurately and property booking invoices and performs other accounts payable duties mentioned below.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Verify that purchasing procedures are followed, i.e. purchase order price compared to invoice price, purchase order quantity compared to invoice quantity, ensure that the purchase order number is valid. Maintain an accurate, up- to- date Purchase Order Log.
  • Route invoices with purchase order attached to department heads and Executive Committee members for approval. Ensure account coding is accurate and all invoices are being returned on a timely basis.
  • Process all approved invoices for payment - ensure all appropriate signatures and back-up attached.
  • Pay all hotel invoices in a timely manner- ensuring accuracy of amount paid, account coding, invoice extension and that all discounts are taken.
  • Handle all vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.

 

  • Maintain open invoices file, paid invoices file and voided check file in an organized and up-to-date manner.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent computer skills—Word, Excel
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
  • One year of A/P experience.

Work Schedule:

Schedule is Mon-Fri  with some weekend work as required.
