The BT/Extended Stay Sales Manager for this dual property (Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Airport and Element), is a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual responsible for new and existing accounts and long term stay project business. They are tasked with meeting/exceeding business travel revenue goals and helping set strategies leading to increased market share.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Successfully achieve or exceed quarterly individual pace/production goals based on assigned markets.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce business transient, extended stay project business and Small Groups business.
  • Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts including prospecting, sales calls, site tours, sales blitzes, prompt and competent follow-up on leads/referrals, use of reader board analysis, and networking in order to maximize room revenue to meet and/or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.
  • Foster relationships with Industries that supply extended stay business travel/project opportunities, such as Insurance Organizations, Financial Institutions, Medical Facilities, Engineering/Construction Companies.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts, business and travel industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Establishes client base of corporate businesses through direct outside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiates guestroom rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
  • Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations.
  • Assists the Director of Sales with the implementation and achievement of the Sales and Marketing plan.
  • Attends and represents company at trade shows and city-wide conventions.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly, professional manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or department manager.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field; plus a minimum of 3 years sales related experience, (experience in Extended Stay sales an asset), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment with a proven ability to innovate.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous Sales Experience in the Canadian Corporate Market.
  • Proficient in computer programs, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail, Sales/negotiating abilities
  • Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
  • Skilled with negotiating and managing complex contracts and addendums

A valid Driver's License is required.
