Job Description

BOTA Tapas and Paella Bar is looking for an Executive Chef to lead the kitchen crew.

Associated with Warwick Hotel San Francisco, BOTA offers a breakfast menu in the AM, and, sandwiches and select tapas at the bar during lunch, and a full menu of Spanish dishes, including tapas and several types of Paella during dinner. Additionally, there are special events such as Chef's tastings, large groups from the hotel, and seasonal specials.

The Executive Chef will be working to develop the current menu and improve the menu with new recipes and offerings, train and monitor staff to ensure constant quality standards, and monitor food cost, product use, and safety and standards.

The Executive Chef will be reporting to the Director of F&B and working closely with the General Manager, and the Sales and Operations Managers.

We have a great team, varied work, and are conveniently located near Union Square and multiple transportation lines.

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that we are maintaining consistent quality product, and communicating with the managers of other departments about F&B needs.

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • 3+ years related executive chef experience
  • Proven experience with Spanish cuisine
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, Spanish language skills preferred
  • Computer skills: proficiency in ordering and inventory systems
  • Know and enforce laws, regulations, policies, and best business practices.
  • Ability to create recipes and support material, i.e., recipe cards, descriptions, and pictures and to read and visualize same.
  • Ability to supervise large staff and accomplish goals on a timely basis
  • Extensive knowledge of menu development, insight into marketing, cost and wage control.
  • Thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes and proper preparation

Work Duties/Functions:

  • Work with F&B Head on Menu development and changes
  • Train and monitor staff performance
  • Prepare and oversee high-quality product during service
  • Participate in Inventory, Food Costing, and Ordering.
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned.

Schedule :

This position is Full-Time.

Compensation and Benefits:

70-75K DOE
