PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bar Manager is responsible for all bar functions, which includes, but not limited to staff training, vendor relations, employee relations, bar management, inventory management, cost control, curating the cocktail list(s), and procurement of allocated spirits. The Bar Operations Manager must also effectively communicate the philosophy of the program to the bar team and ensure that standards are upheld at all times. The Bar Operations Manager will also ensure that all shifts operate in a smooth manner and attend to any issues that may arise. All work-related duties must be done onsite.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SERVICE and BEVERAGE
• Monitor member/guest reactions and frequently confer with service staff to ensure member/guest satisfaction.
• Perform proper execution of opening and closing procedures
• Monitor service to members in all areas of the Club.
• Ensure bar staff's adherence to service standards.
• Communicate with floor managers when there are drags on cocktails so that the team can respond proactively instead of reactively. 
• Inspect bars before service.
• Establish systems and procedures to maintain consistency behind all bars relating to garnish and juice prep, set up and break down, opening and closing duties.
• Ensure that every member and guest is greeted immediately upon approaching the bar.
• Ensure that members are being treated in a friendly and accommodating way.
• Ensure that service is technically proficient.
• Ensure that drinks are expedited in a way that ensures efficiency in production for the service well and for bar guests. 
• Handle guest and member correspondence as necessary.
• Make every effort to accommodate special requests regarding cocktails, liquor, and spirits from members.
• Make a constant effort to build relationships with members and teach all bar staff to do the same.
• Learn and record specific preferences to allow our team to provide increasingly tailored service for members and their guests.
• Coordinate seasonally appropriate cocktail changes to create a diverse cocktail list that is consistent with our restaurant concept and standards of quality.
• Responsible for maintaining a cost-effective and appropriately diverse selection of beers, with respect for member and guest demands.
• Ensure that drinks on the cocktail list can be executed quickly and consistently.
• Maintain a seasonal non-alcoholic beverage list.
• Maintain complete knowledge of: all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in outlets, the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list, designated glassware and garnishes for drinks, all menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
• Maintain knowledge of outlet layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code and ensure the areas are set up and maintained at all times

PROFITABILITY AND COST CONTROL
• Maintain budgeted costs for the department. 
• Take month end inventory of beer and liquor for all outlets.
• Submit accurate requisitions for the transferring of product between all outlets. 
• Make sure that all employees are properly cashed out, there are no open checks in Agilsys, and all cash is balanced and accounted for.
• Establish par levels for bar supplies, liquor, and beer, completing requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business while maintaining cost control percentages. 
• Implement strategies for continuous financial improvement of the division.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
• Monitor service staff appearance and take action as necessary.
• Providing guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring to reporting staff and department managers. • Create a safe and positive work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
• Conduct performance appraisals as required per company policy.
• Ensure that bartenders have and maintain a comprehensive cocktail and food menu knowledge.
• Ensure staff maintains consistent quality standards for all drinks.
• Address complaints from staff and resolve problems, involving HR when necessary.
• Maintain employee morale among the bar staff.
• Assist in filling open positions with qualified internal or external candidates.
• Schedule employees appropriately based on budgeted labor cost and business levels. 
• Ensure that staff schedule is 100% accurate and displayed promptly every week.

FACILITIES
• Ensure that all bar areas are clean and guest ready at all times of the day, regardless of whether or not they are open for service. Maintain side work regiment and opening and closing procedures that ensure that this happens.
• Instill a sense of ownership in staff that encourages them to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness in their workstations. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have and be able to do all of the following:
• At least 21 years of age. 
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Minimum of three years experience in an upscale casual or fine dining atmosphere. 
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. 
• Basic math skills.
• Advanced computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility with your schedule: Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must hold valid food handlers certification.
• Ability to work up to 40+ hours per week in full-time positions.
