National Hospitality Group (NHG) is seeking a motivated and detailed Accounting Coordinator to join our team. Working with the Director of Finance, the Accounting Coordinator assists with daily operational tasks along with ad hoc requests from internal and external customers.

NHG is a privately-owned small-cap group of companies with assets located in Kamloops, BC. As the centerpiece of NHG's assets in Kamloops, the new Delta Hotel Kamloops- a franchise of Marriott, will be a catalyst for further development of assets within Kamloops, BC.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embodies a forward-moving, highly collaborative, fully accountable and inspired vertical mindset; Actively promotes a vertical mindset in the work place
  • Empowers team members in finding efficiencies and innovative solutions
  • Effectively communicates with other departments and helps provide solutions and understanding to others
  • Assists in the annual preparation of operating budgets, capital budgets, 5-year projections and rolling cash flow projections
  • Assists in creating monthly financial statements, forecasts, cash flow projections
  • Helps complete balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations
  • Completes semi-monthly payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable process
  • May works directly with banks and other lending institutions
  • Assists in Income Audit, Cash Management, Debt Management, and Contract Management
  • Assists in Government Reporting (GST, PST, Municipal Tax, WorkSafeBC, Source Deductions)
  • Helps facilitate internal and external audits and verification of internal controls
  • Helps processes yearly insurance renewals and property taxes for NHG properties
  • Performs duties related to special projects that may be assigned by Director of Finance
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exude an upbeat, positive demeanor; while working and communicating with various departments
  • Strong critical thinking skill; use of logic and reasoning to identify appropriate solutions to problems
  • Ability to take initiative, complete tasks with accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance background), Recent Graduate or Soon to be graduate are welcome to apply
  • Previous hotel hospitality or property management an asset
  • Proficient computer skills particularly in Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Word
  • Strong understanding of federal and provincial financial regulations
