Position Responsibilities:

The Lead Housekeeper is primarily responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department while also performing cleaning duties.  The Housekeeping Department is responsible for cleaning all guest rooms and hotel common areas at the hotel. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate work schedule with Housekeeping Manager so that either the Lead Room Attendant or Executive Housekeeper are scheduled to lead the department each day.
  • Respect and follow hotel management's instructions; model professional behavior and work practices to set a positive example for all other staff.
  • Help implement and ensure that all department staff follow new or updated directives and procedures when instructed by management.
  • Assist with staff management; report incidences of tardiness, call-outs, substandard work, insubordination, or other violations of department policies/procedures to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Assist management in investigating complaints about service, facilities, and staff members and take corrective action per guidance from management.
  • Coordinate with hotel management and department supervisor to track inventory and advise when housekeeping/laundry supplies need to be reordered.
  • Regularly perform Room Attendant cleaning duties; the Lead Housekeeper will be scheduled as a regular Housekeeper on days that the Housekeeping Manager  is available on-site. It is expected that when leading the department, there will be days when cleaning-related duties will need to be performed to ensure that work is completed by the daily deadline.
  • When leading the department:
    • Manage daily scheduling and assign duties.
    • Coordinate cleaning priorities, guest service, and room repairs with the frontdesk, management, maintenance, and cleaning staff to ensure that all work is completed by the daily deadline.
    • Inspect work performed by the department's staff to ensure that it meets property specifications and established standards; release clean rooms to the frontdesk only after personal inspection has been completed.
    • Complete the department's work tracking form.
    • Provide an email summary of events from the day.
    • Cover frontdesk during staff breaks
    • Other duties as required.

 

Pay, Schedule, and Location:  

This position is based at Fieldhouse Jones - Nashville located at 811 Main St., Nashville, TN 37206.  This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position located primarily at FieldHouse Jones.  Schedule will vary based upon company and property needs; flexibility is required in this area.  Long hours, work on weekends and holidays, on-call shifts, and more than 40 hours of work per week may be required. 

 

The exact days of the week will vary with scheduling and business needs.  Scheduled hours may vary or change depending upon department needs.

 

As we are in the hospitality market, it is expected that all applicants are regularly available on weekends and holidays.  Requested days off are granted according to business needs.
