The Assistant Professional is responsible for overseeing the entire golf operation working hand in hand with the Director of Golf and the Head Professional. The Assistant must also work closely with all departments to ensure all golf events are coordinated and are conducted effectively. This individual must interact with the Membership on a daily basis and will help guide the golf staff to meet service objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

  • Coordinate with the Director of Golf & Head Professional to oversee entire golf operation.
  • Coordinate all activities with Director of Golf, Head Professional, General Manager, Board of Directors and Golf Course Superintendent as needed.
  • Work with Director of Golf & Head Professional to assist in creation and implementation of tournament schedule & league play.
  • Organize and run all tournament activities. This includes creation of promotional items, registration forms, scorecards, cart signs, rules sheets, scoreboards, results sheets and anything else necessary to conduct an event that meets the standards of the Club.
  • Responsible for distribution of all prize monies won.
  • Oversee the direction and day-to-day activities of all golf operations employees.
  • Promote all Club activities.
  • Encourage Member participation for all Club events.
  • Provide golf instruction programs that cater to all ages and abilities.
  • Responsible for maintaining standards of service set forth by the Club.
  • Provide coverage in the golf shop as necessary or scheduled.
  • Assist Merchandise coordinator with receiving, inventory & merchandising of all merchandise.
  • Provide an accurate accounting of rounds played, fees collected, pro shop inventory and coordinate all records with the Director of Golf & Head Professional.
  • Act as a liaison with Course Superintendent to coordinate tournament play as well as daily play.
  • Act as a liaison with Food and Beverage department to coordinate golf events.
  • Act as a liaison with Membership office to help new/prospective Members with any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Responsible for enforcement of all rules set forth by the Club.
  • Play golf with a variety of Members and Guests; Ladies & Gentlemen.
  • Maintain a respectable playing ability.
  • Act as an ambassador for Mizner Country Club. This includes participation in PGA/LPGA sanctioned events, community involvement or any other activities outside Mizner Country Club.
  • Must maintain current PGA/LPGA status.
  • Must be available to appear at any Club function upon request.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf, and/or General Manager.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
