Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique, boutique property is looking for a Food and Beverage Manager who is assisting the Hotel General Manager in managing daily Hotel Restaurant and Catering/Banquet operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. 

The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier features 106 guestrooms, 8000 sq. ft. of Catering Conference & Event space, 200 seat Lobby restaurant, pool, and fitness center. 


Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Restaurant & Catering /Banquet departments.
  • Identify operational performance, productivity, and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct those deficiencies. 
  • Respond to guests' inquiries and resolving concerns and meeting participation and facilitation. 
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, particularly managers, to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, providing professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and development of frontline staff in conjunction with department managers.
  • Monitor staffing levels to meet cover business demands
  • Direct and coordinate the Restaurant & Catering/Banquet in conjunction with the General Manager to meet the daily needs of the hotel, including, but not limited to, staffing, forecasting, controlling, and supervision.
  • Act on guest feedback and ensure that corrective action is taken to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service.
  • Monitors and maintains the productivity level of employees.
  • Ensure monthly inventory processes and counts are completed.
  • Ensure compliance of Food & Beverage operations with policy and procedure, legislation, health and safety, and safe food handling.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws and other statutory regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

 Qualification and Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Restaurant & Catering/Banquet Management position.
  • Bachelor of hospitality management a strong asset.
  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of training, grooming and developing team members.
  • Serving it Right, Food Safe & WHIMS certification required.
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be productive during slower off-season periods.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Food and Beverage Operations.
  • Outstanding attention to detail - properly identifying guests' needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure. 
  • Skilled in problem analysis, problem-solving and decision making.
  • Proficient/familiarity with Micros POS an asset.
  • Flexibility to work various hours including evenings and weekends.
