Maintenance Supervisor - Invermere, BC

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, this position assists in maintaining the daily operations of the property.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct mechanical rounds, water quality testing of pool and hot tubs as per requirements.
  • Respond to and solve guestroom requests.
  • Active member of the Emergency Response Team for Fire, Occupational Health & Safety, and Disaster Preparedness.
  • Perform preventative repairs, retrofits and maintenance.
  • Assign work orders to the maintenance team.
  • Verify the timely completion of work orders.
  • Assist in the maintaining of inventory and purchasing parts, materials and equipment with the Chief's approval.
  • Monitor and direct maintenance staff and track performance in their daily tasks.
  • Assist the Maintenance Chief in maintaining annual budgets by controlling cost and eliminating unnecessary expenses.
  • Monitor all planned maintenance procedures and ensure maintenance is completed at the scheduled times.
  • Maintain the company standard on performance functions by monitoring consistency and quality of overall maintenance.
  • Assist with safety programs/meetings and minute preparation.
  • Available for shift work for after-hour calls, emergencies, weekends and holiday shifts.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the department and the hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A power engineering or trade certificate would be an asset.
  • Pool operator certificate an asset.
  • Preferably have a valid certification such as Building Operator's "B" ticket, 5th Class Power Engineer's certificate of competency, or an equivalent trade ticket or enrolled in a training course.
  • Should have some knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall, lock/re-keying, plumbing, electrical and HVAC with effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work safely independently.
  • Able to lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Valid 4th class driver's license with heavy trailer endorsement would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
