Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique, boutique property is looking for Director of Operations. A successful candidate will enjoy our fast pace environment and is looking to grow their career with our brand. The Director of Operations will primarily be responsible for managing the Rooms Division, Food and Beverage outlets in addition to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. 

 

The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier features 106 guestrooms, 8000 sq. ft. of meeting space, pool, fitness center, and onsite Lobby restaurant.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Include but Are Not Limited To:

 

  • Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel with a focus on efficient service standards
  • Identify operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct those deficiencies. 
  • Responding to guests' inquiries and resolving concerns and participating & facilitating meetings. 
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, particularly managers, to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, providing professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations.
  • Oversee and approving daily, weekly departmental schedules
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and development of front line staff in conjunction with department managers.
  • Identify service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service.
  • Ensures Food, Beverage, and labour costs are kept within budget, by minimizing waste and maximizing opportunities.
  • Other duties as required

 

Minimum Qualification and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Hotel Management position including Food and Beverage and Rooms division.
  • Bachelor degree in hospitality is a strong asset
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Rooms Division Operations and Food and Beverage.
  • Outstanding attention to detail - properly identifying guests' needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure. 
  • Skilled in problem analysis, problem solving and decision making.
  • Utilization of Opera (PMS and Micros systems (POS) is an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evening, weekends and holidays.
