We have transformed this hotel with a complete renovation and re-opened as the dazzling Marriott Orlando Downtown, conveniently located adjacent to the downtown UCF campus and nestled in the future Creative Village.  We are looking for Banquet Servers - On Call for our hotel that features 297 redesigned guest rooms and 15,992 square feet of sophisticated meeting accommodations.

Our Banquet Servers are like the musicians in an orchestra.  They all need to synchronize their efforts creating a harmonious experience for our guests in a banquet event.  Either serving small groups of 10 to large groups of hundreds, the banquet servers always coordinate their efforts, give personalized service and make the event seamless and enjoyable.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Understand Banquet Event Orders to ensure proper set up and service of the event.
  • Prepare coffee breaks, buffets, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.
  • Set up tables and events including chairs, dance floors, silver and china.
  • Greet guests and present the menu. Be familiar with menu offerings in order to entice guests with its ingredients and preparations.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Provide friendly, professional guest service with genuine care. Respond promptly, courteously and effectively to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns. Know when to alert a captain or manager, should the need arise.
  • Serve alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Clear tables throughout the dining experience using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware and silverware and tables are properly crumbed.
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
  • Serves food, coffee, water and other beverages; refills beverages as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, dishware, glassware, and flatware.
  • Efficiently complete prep and side.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
  • Cleans banquet room and banquet back aisle area during and after banquet functions.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, reach and kneel, and have the ability to lift and carry full trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Food and Beverage experience.
  • Previous Banquet Server position desired.
  • Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
