The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible mentoring, training, directing and organizing the Food and Beverage Department, including the Restaurant & Lounge and Banquets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Restaurant, lounge and Banquets.
  • Maintain standards of food and beverage and guest service quality
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through excellent customer service and meet or exceed GSS score
  • Hire, train, schedule and supervise all the Restaurant and Banquet associates ensuring all standards are met
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with the team, union and other department heads
  • Managing daily Banquet functions, planning, organizing and executing breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.
  • Develops and implements Food & Beverage policies, procedures and controls
  • Researches trends and innovations as they relate to product and operations, makes recommendations for improvements
  • Address guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Liaise with Kitchen staff when necessary
  • Ensure accuracy with payroll, inventory and other administrative process. Ensure Inventory is recorded monthly
  • Manage staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for regular and special events
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws and other statutory regulations
  • Maintain and update the outlet wine lists, and bar menus
  • Prepare annual revenue and expense summaries and forecasts, including daily sales, inventory and labour reports
  • Ensure that all beverage associates are trained and in compliant in proper cash handling procedures
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field; plus a minimum of three years of previous Food & Beverage Management experience in a hotel, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma preferred
  • Must be available to work afternoon/evening shift
  • Must have good wine, beer and cocktail knowledge
  • Must have Food Safe certificate
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment with a proven ability to innovate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail

A valid Driver's License is required.
