What will I be doing?

As a Chef de Partie with Brasa you will report directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef and must demonstrate and act an as example by correctly handling all food products. The Chef de Partie will be responsible for organizing and facilitating day-day operations of the kitchen, while working closely with the Sous Chef. This Team Member will adhere to professional standards of temperature and food safety control while also required to maintain their work space, including counter tops, utensils, and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with company policy and Health and Safety standards. Ensuring a positive Team Member experience through training, motivating and ongoing development will also be a focus of the Chef de Partie.  Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Team with the preparation of food items for buffet service
  • Assist all other back of house team Members as required (Line Cooks, Stewards)
  • Assist in meeting labour, inventory and cost control targets
  • Closely monitor food cost related tasks including portioning, product rotation on buffet

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a high volume, similar buffet-style atmosphere
  • Food Handling Certificate is an asset (not a requirement)
  • Thorough knowledge of all facets to a back of house line including but not limited to Pantry, Sauté, Grill
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well within a Team, while also demonstrated leader-type qualities
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays)
