Job Purpose:  

Greet and serve guests in a professional, gracious manner.  Food and Beverage Management with overseeing day to day operations of the food and beverage division, ensuring all employees are performing assigned duties.  Train outlet service staff and monitor employees for proper dress codes.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Consistently perform to Company Brand Standards of Service and assure the same from all food and beverage employees.

Supervise outlets and banquet staff to ensure compliance with service techniques and procedures, pre/post shift side work assignments, cash, credit, guest check handling procedures, station/service area cleanliness, and compliance with all regulations concerning the service and handling of alcoholic beverages.

Thoroughly train all staff on respective duties, standards of performance, and service techniques.  Monitor employee performance, promptly act to correct performance deficiencies, and assist Food and Beverage Management in the selection, appraisal and discipline of F&B personnel.

Explain menu, methods of preparation, describe specials and answer any questions the guests or employees may have.

Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilize suggestive selling techniques, input orders into point of sale computer system, promptly place orders with kitchen and/or bar, explain specific guest requests, compile order (including proper side orders and condiments), deliver and serve orders to guest, replenish beverage and clear table as guest completes each course.

Regularly check on guests throughout the meal, anticipate guest needs and promptly act to resolve any problems or guest complaints.  Apprise outlet management of all guest complaints, even those that have been resolved. 

Serve food and beverages in accordance with established techniques for quality service.  Serve as an example to the service staff.

Carry trays containing food, beverages, coffee pots, pitchers of beverages and service ware.

Promptly present check to guest and adhere to all cash, credit, guest check and tip reporting procedures.

Adhere to safety, security and sanitation procedures, handle all hotel equipment with care and report all hazards.  Respond appropriately to reports of hazards from service staff.

Complete all assigned administrative duties in a timely manner such as, the preparation of work schedules, requisitions, employee appraisals etc.

Job Skills:

  1. Read and interpret business records and statistical reports, and make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts, as well as experience and opinion.
  2. Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
  3. Analyze and interpret policies established by administrators.
  4. Change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards established by our hotel is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules in response to the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Company, Hotel and Departmental rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.  Employees who violate these rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
