The individual holding the position is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in their assigned market segments. This position is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience; or a 4 year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2 year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.

· Must have a valid driver's license. Hotel will reimburse expenses based on mileage with backup detail submitted on the weekly expense report.

· Must be skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to maintain, update and create company approved spreadsheets and word processing requirements.

· Association State/Regional, Union and other Market Segments as defined by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

· Use property's computerized sales management system (Sales pro/ Delphi) to manage the hotel's accounts, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts.

· Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, Reservations and Rooms Operations.

· Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP's, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.

· Operate within established sales expense budget for various activities.

· Prospecting of new business and follow up on assigned leads.

· Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program providing timely reporting on activities.

· Regularly contact existing accounts based, with correct activity and follow up notes, tracing accounts for future activity requirements.

· Requires outside and telephone sales solicitation.

· Frequent client entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections.

· Be familiar with all sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR) with RevPar increases.

· Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.

· Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST) hours as defined by the DOSM.

· Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.

· Assertive, innovative personality with a high level of initiative to solicit new business and assure that the client's needs can be met by the particular facility.

· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal enabling one to communicate with other hotel associates, guests, and business clients.

· Meet and greet clients on days assigned events are in-house.

· Comply with all Corporate and local Hotel SOP's.

· If assigned, participation in other special committees / events

· Attendance and participation at external events/functions (ex: Chamber of Commerce).

· Limited Travel will be required.
