POSITION : Conference Services & Events Manager

GENERAL

The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier (North Vancouver) a unique, boutique style property, is looking for a Conference Services & Events Manager who must be a multi-faceted and driven to always exceed our guests' expectations.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The main responsibility of the Conference Services & Events Manager is to sell and manage catering events from initial booking to completion and follow-up. 

REPORTING LINE:
Director of Sales & Catering  

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Function as a member with the Catering Team to meet the business objectives of the Catering department.
  • Up-sell the hotel's services and products, suggesting suitable events, activities, floor plans and menus.
  • Work closely with the client throughout the duration of the event, ensuring successful outcome from arrival to departure.
  • Work also with Sales Manager's clients to coordinate food and beverage content and requirements throughout the planning stages and site inspections, when requested.
  • Manage Sales Manager's room blocks in relation to pick up, rooming lists, attrition and cancellation, when requested
  • Organize events effectively with an acute sense of details and ability to anticipate our client's needs.
  • Conduct site inspections and assist with walk-in inquiries and requests.
  • Establish relationships with industry partners.
  • Attend Chamber of Commerce, tourism, and business-related events upon request
  • Prepare accurate contracts in a timely fashion for client approval and signature.
  • Prepare concise Banquet Event Orders, floor plans and resumes for distribution.
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings and prepare reports as required
  • Liaise with Sales & Catering Coordinator & accounting department on accurate customer billing, credit applications, deposits, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years Catering management experience in a full-service hotel
  • Banquet Management experience as asset
  • Degree/ Diploma in Hotel or Hospitality management
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Able to focus and guide others in accomplishing work objectives
