The Banquet Supervisor assists the Banquet Manager with supervising and training the service personnel to assure outstanding Client and Guest satisfaction.  Satisfaction is achieved through the heartfelt greeting of the client, first class food and beverage setup, service and presentation. Other responsibilities include, working with the catering kitchen and sales departments to assure all the guests' expectations are exceeded. Daytime/Evening shifts, weekends and holidays are required.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist with service to ensure guests have the ultimate experience, enabling the brand to shine.

Resolve any issues quickly for guest leading to an ideal guest experience.

Supervises all aspects of the banquet staff taking direction from the banquet manager including but not limited to training, service, scheduling and evaluating of service staff.

Ensures that all staff are in proper uniform and well-groomed via company standards.

Holds pre-function meeting with staff in the banquet manager's absence to ensure smooth, efficient service; assigns server stations and coordinates the timing of courses with the chef and any outside vendors such as bands or DJ's.

  • Reviews and works with the sales staff to make sure buffet tables, guest tables and other function room set-up needs are met.
  • Assures that all side-work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule.
  • Responsible for floor supervision and client satisfaction during banquet service.
  • Ensures that all appropriate counts, and charges are each event are promptly forwarded to the billing team for invoicing billing when required.
  • Serves as liaison between service personnel and other staff members.
  • Serves as liaison between service personnel room and kitchen staff.
  • Communicates with the banquet manager and chef, food counts and pick up times for Hors d' Oeuvres, Buffets and Meals
  • Assures the neatness, cleanliness and safety of all food and beverage areas.
  • Greets key guest upon their arrival and ensures their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Works with the banquet manager to maintain proper inventory of all service equipment and supplies to meet required needs.
  • Acts as head waiter at special, private functions and may greet and seat guests as necessary for events.
  • Handles guest complaints, address and resolve employee issues.
  • May participates in scheduled staff and management meetings.
  • Understands and has the ability to read BEOs
  • Attends weekly BEO meetings.
  • Assists in service as needed.
  • Assumes closing manager or manager on duty responsibilities when assigned.
  • Assures that state and local laws and policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Should touch the client at least 5 times during the visit
  • Performs other tasks as requested by upper management.

    Physical Conditions and Demands:
    The employee is regularly required to:
    · Lift up 30-50 pounds.
    · Bend, stoop, and carry.
    · Reach in all directions
    · Operate appliances and read gauges.
    · Stand for long periods of time.
    · Push, and pull objects such as pots, plates and food stuffs.
