Looking for a strong Line Cook to join our team!!

Paese [paˈeze] means "town or village" and for us this symbolizes neighborhood. Open over 30 years ago has stayed true to a handcrafted and house-made approach to a menu that's Italian-inspired, with a distinctive and original made-in-Canada twist.

We are open Monday - Friday for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We are a busy and well-known neighborhood restaurant with wonderful, repeat clientele and long-standing staff. We offer a fair wage as well as a positive and professional work environment with the opportunity to develop and grow within our company.

We are currently looking for Line cooks to prepare food to the chef's exact specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities are to include but not limited to the following:

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff's performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Have a leveled head

We are looking for an individual with experience in a similar position. That being said, if you're passionate, enthusiastic and eager to learn, we are willing to train the right candidate regardless of previous experience.

This is a Full-time, 40 + hours/week, and weekend availability is a MUST.

Competitive salary is based on individual experience and skill.
