What will I be doing?

The Watermark Host(ess) will be responsible for greeting Guests and seating them in the Watermark restaurant in a prompt and courteous manner, while maintaining a professional attitude. This Team Member must ensure each guest encountered in the Watermark feels cared for, valued and respected.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide hassle free service, say "Yes" or "Yes, let me see what I can do" to all Guest
    requests
  • Greet and assist guests with any requests in a calm, friendly and professional manner
  • Welcome guests and ascertain their dining needs
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials
  • Taking payment and accurately posting charges (cash, debit, credit cards and room charges)
  • Seat guests and manage the restaurant seating chart
  • Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow
  • Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware,
  • Communicate with team members and other departments regarding guests and guest issues
  • Closing duties including: verifying and returning cash float, dropping blind deposit
  • Enhance Service Recovery using the HEART model: Hear the Guest out, Empathize,
    Apologize sincerely, Resolve the Issue, Thank the Guest for staying with us

 

Team Member Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • All Team Members work safely and attend required health and safety training
  • Report accidents, violence or harassment, fire, suspicious activity by Guests or Team
    members to their supervisor immediately
  • Understanding and employing safe operating procedures including Safe Operating
    Procedures & Universal Precautions for Blood borne Pathogen and Biohazard Prevention, Cash Handling, Coffee Machine, Knives, Microwave, Dealing with Aggressive Customers & Strangers, Ending Negative Interactions, Dealing with Stress, Coffee Machine, Fire Extinguishers, Garbage Removal, Handling Broken Glass & CFL Bulbs, Hot and Cold  Environments, Hot Surfaces and Liquids, Housekeeping (General), Manual Materials Handling Activities, Mopping, Safe Food Handling, Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention, WHMIS Classified Chemical Handling
