What will I be doing?

As a Line Cook-Level 1 within Banquets you will report directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef and must demonstrate and act an as example by correctly handling of all food products. The Line Cook-Level 1 will use a grill, tilt fryer, combination oven, deep fryer, oven, slicer and food processor in preparing the food. This Team Member must be able to follow recipes, meet deadlines and assist the Sous Chef in executing menus established through corporate and internal events. Assisting the Sous-Chef by calculating necessary food quantities on a daily basis in conjunction with reservations will also be a priority. This Team Member will adhere to professional standards of temperature and food safety control while also required to maintain their work space, including counter tops, utensils, and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with company policy and Health and Safety standards.

Experience

Ø  Minimum 2 years' experience in a Line Cook position

  • Experience working in a Banquet-type setting is an asset-Not a requirement
  • Food Handling Certificate is an asset (not a requirement)
  • Thorough knowledge of all facets to a back of house line including but not limited to Pantry, Sauté, Grill

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well within a Team, while also demonstrated leader-type qualities

Requirements

  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays)

Required to provide a certificate proving completion of the Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers (e-course provided by the Ministry of Labour)
